Having pets and especially dogs has been a part of my life as far back as I can remember.  My first dog was a water spaniel, old Pat, after that we had a little black lab mixed breed, his name was Smokie.  Later we got into golden retrievers and I even got into breading them after I left home, got married and had my own children.  Now, after all of our children were raised and scattered my wife and I found ourselves the proud owners of a Brittany pup who we named Ginger.  I got so enthusiastic about our dog and Brittanys that I wrote a children's book and later we created a line of Brittany gift items.
